Manu Fernández was born in Barcelona in 1979. He graduated in photography in the UPC and studied in the University Autonoma of Barcelona, a Post-grade in photojournalism.
He started working in local newspapers in southern Spain in 2000. (Diario Córdoba and El Día de Córdoba) and in 2005 moved to Madrid to join the international news agency “The Associated Press (AP)” as a stringer photographer. In the middle of 2005 Manu returned to Barcelona where he continues his assignments for AP.
Since 2005 he has worked covering Spanish soccer League, fashion, breaking news, FINA Swimming World Championship, UEFA Champions League finals, Moto GP, Formula One etc.
Manu´s photographs have been published in The New York Times, Washington Post, Herald Tribune, Sport Illustrated, Der Spiegel, Olé, Clarín, Financial Times, and have featured as the cover of several newspapers.
Manu Fernández is based in Barcelona and is available for assignments.
